Methodology / Background
Our heart belongs to the impassioned spirit of entrepreneurship in a medium-sized business setting. We have the need to remain open to what at first may seem to be unusual criteria. We stand for insistent and consistent communication, whether in the form of architecture, a brand or a product. INSTANTCONCEPT develops systems for communication that convey messages through image, text and form.
 
To this end, INSTANTCONCEPT has grown to become an interdisciplinary design enterprise. Our team comprises open-minded specialists from the fields of communication design, architecture, product design, communication sciences and IT and has developed a working structure in which the individual disciplines are not arranged as usual alongside one another according to the parallel content they are dealing with, but rather work hand-in-hand on each project, taking an interdisciplinary approach. This working method enormously increases the scope of criteria that can be taken into account, opening up new ways of seeing things and incorporating oft-neglected marginal areas, causally translating these into much more deep-reaching results during each project phase.

We pursue this idea even further, which perhaps can be traced most readily to Bauhaus thinking, and expand interdisciplinarity to encompass responsibility for designing our own brands and undertaking our own projects in the fields of lifestyle and furniture. Our expertise and knowledge already brought us into close contact with the international furniture industry the year INSTANTCONCEPT was founded, 2002, prompting us to supplement our portfolio with the service areas of project management, consulting, engineering and product communication. We have been active on the Chinese market since 2004, initially in product design, and then quickly expanding our offerings to cover the entire service portfolio, including prototyping, POS, shop design and the development of a new international brand.

Today, INSTANTCONCEPT assists clients in the areas of branding, communication, product design and
architecture, going well beyond the traditional definition of a design agency.

Brand Development Harry Heissmann Incorporated
JobHarry Heissmann is the top star amongst New York interior designers. Is New York's top interior designer. For over a decade, his incomparable style has transformed the luxury apartments on Parkavenue, the houses of the Hamptons, from Miami Beach right to California and just because of its creative distinctiveness, he also supports many charitable foundations and large charity events. For his newly founded New York design company, Heissmann looked for a creative agency to do the entire CI designing, office furniture and equipment and internet presence.
ResultINSTANTCONCEPT won the contract and translated Heissmann’s creative personality into a unique personal brand, how could it be any different, extracted out of his very own characteristic style of handwriting both written and in design, sensitively overdrawn in shape and having iconographic power. In this way INSTANTCONCEPT imparts the initial with an extremely appropriate, fab(le)ulous Heissmann power. Colour code, layout and graphical elements enhance the idea and create a transparent, timeless, “gentlemen brand“ from New York.

JobSan Francisco, USA, City Hall. The temporary, brilliant high point of a CI development that follows our ideals in terms of with, depth, complexity and thanks to the euphoria of our client and their impressive Mrs. President, who was unstoppable, even now - just before one of the most personal happy occasions. INSTANTCONCEPT was awarded the contract to extensively design the personal wedding of its female customer and received in addition to the dazzling casting of both main roles, with the City Hall a colossal arena, for a unique and already now legendary staging.
ResultINSTANTCONCEPT convinced with its communication strategy a “personal branding” for the setting up an American real estate investment company’s CI, and tied the appearance to the impressive personality of its lady president. For this we developed a monogram type signet, that with its uncompromising reduction, conveys values and significance; and incorporates the Apeiron, the symbol for infinity.. Inevitably a little later the “personal branding” idea demanded
its logical continuation and so INSTANTCONCEPT was asked to create the complete design and staging of the coming wedding of its female customer.The leasing of the San Francisco, City Hall offered an impressive stage and demanded a gapless and at times obsessive attention to detail. In addition to the CI we created a complex graphical landscape, consisting of symbolic themes, which followed a quite personally linked narrative thread and accompanied the entire ritual. From “Save the date” mailing of the invitation to the rehearsals and the complex staging of the wedding itself. From the place card to the lighting effects using graphical projections, which merge this dramatic, official interior emotionally into a very personal stage. The wedding was publicised in many US magazines.

Brand Development Von der Heydt Museum
JobThe Von der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal, displays one of the most opulent art collections in Germany. It contains almost 3000 works of art, which together form an extensive catalogue of international art history, with artwork from the 16th century until the present. The collection was established in 1900 due to an extensive private civil initiative, which was mainly supported by the von der Heydt’s who were a family of bankers. The historical settings of the times when Wuppertal experienced its economic heyday are widely represented. Under new management, the gallery’s potential should significantly attract a wider range of national as well as international public visitors. This endeavour is supported and symbolised by a completely new development of the over 30 year old appearance.
ResultINSTANTCONCEPT wins the pitch and successfully translates the museum`s corporate identity, in a new overall appearance, that is heavily weighted to its principal patron. The central starting point is an intensive analysis of the collection’s history, which is primarily a clarification carried out in 2006, by a commission of experts into the historical role of, the “ von der Heydt’s“,a family of private bankers, during the days of National Socialism.At a time requiring more and more private civil engagement, the deeper recollection of and tribute to its founder form a strong mark of identity.For this purpose INSTANTCONCEPT developed its own characteristic logotype, which symbolises the subject of the collection and its historical classification. Additionally, colour code and gradient strengthen value and chronology in a way that symbolizes the collection’s central aspects.

Brand Development Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen
JobThe International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, one of the oldest and most renowned short film festivals in the world, decided to launch a travelling programme of short films: Oberhausen On Tour. INSTANTCONCEPT developed the poster campaign and programme brochures for a tour of 40 European cities.
ResultA vivid and memorable key visual clearly related to the theme uses an anachronistic motif to arouse associations with celluloid and then breaks with the motif to evoke a captivating tension. Layout and colour code for the trilingual programme brochure in pocket format create an exemplary introduction to, and overview of, the complex series of 134 events, while providing rapid access to the necessary information.

Brand Development International short film festival in Oberhausen, yearbook published by Hatje Cantz Verlag
Job50 years of international short film festivals in Oberhausen is an extremely dignified occasion to look back. The festival is always of central, international significance, devoted to essence-ish, young and wild embodiment of such cineastic entry-level media, provides a plentiful abundance of material for an interesting perspective on almost all of the post war era. Lars Hendrik Gass, in charge of festival management, desires an immaculate chronicle for this special occasion - a reference book about festival spirit and media in contemporary change.
ResultINSTANTCONCEPT wins the contract for design and layout of such a chronicle and creates from the complex collection of images, data and contents, one for every required use enjoyable, convenient, book of festival identity. A clear 2-part reduced type area and margin column for accompanying data and facts, including many registers and indices also support the quality of this frequently well-liked and useful reference work. The festival identity was also worked out and shown in as part of an abstract overdrawn logo on book spines and trimmings.
